Introduction
Every action taken inside your Niobi workspace — from a login and creating a new payee to approving a payment — leaves a trace. Audit Logs gives you a single, searchable record of workspace activity, so you can see who did what, when, and from where.
Audit Logs is an important tool for keeping your Niobi workspace secure and accountable. In this article, you'll learn how to:
- Find and open the Audit Logs page
- Read the summary counters
- Filter and search audit log events by section, user, or date range
- Open an individual event to view its full details
- Export audit logs for record-keeping or compliance

Before You Start
Audit Logs is a Director-only feature. If you don't see Audit Logs in your Settings menu, your account role doesn't have access. A Director on your workspace will need to review or export the logs on your behalf.
You'll need:
- A Niobi account with the Director role
- Access to the workspace whose activity you want to review
No additional setup is required. Audit Logs automatically records activity from the moment your workspace is created.
How to View Audit Logs
To view your workspace activity history:
1. Log in to your Niobi dashboard.
2. In the left sidebar, expand Workspace.
3. Click Audit Logs.
You'll land on the Audit Logs page, marked Director Only, showing a running list of events across your workspace.
Understanding the Audit Log Summary Counters
At the top of the page, four cards provide a quick overview of workspace activity:
- Total Events — every recorded event across all pages, regardless of filters
- Unique Users — the number of distinct people who generated activity in your current filter
- Payment Events — actions tied to payments, such as created, sent, or approved payments, in your current filter
- Auth Events — logins, logouts, and other authentication activity in your current filter
These numbers update live as you apply filters, helping you quickly see how many payment-related or authentication events occurred within a specific period.
Understanding the Audit Logs Events Table
Below the summary counters, the main table lists individual audit log events with the following columns:
- Actor — the team member who performed the action
- Role — that person's role at the time, such as Director
- Section — the part of the product the event relates to, such as Authentication or Payees
- Action / Message — a plain-language description of what happened
- Timestamp — when the event occurred, shown in your local time zone
- IP Address — the IP address the action was performed from
Events are sorted with the most recent activity first.
How to Filter and Search Audit Log Events
Audit Logs can grow long quickly, so you can use several filters to narrow down the results:
- Search bar — search by actor name, message text, or IP address
- Section — filter events by a specific area, such as Authentication or Payees
- User — filter activi
